LAUNCH OF THE SENIOR MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME ON LEADERSHIP AND GOVERNANCE

The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore will be launching the Senior Management Programme on Leadership and Governance in July 2006.

Drawing on challenges confronting senior management professionals in exercising effective leadership and good governance, as well as recognising the re-emergence and growing influence of Asian nations and societies, the Programme has been designed to equip its participants with the necessary mindsets and skills to improve their performance as leaders in their respective organisations. It is tailor-made for senior executives in the government, non-profit and private sectors who are in or approaching leadership positions, with at least 8 years of significant managerial experience.

Developed by the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore with the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, the programme also engages renowned faculty from the John F Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Students will gain new perspectives in leadership and governance through interactive teaching methods and presentation of new analytical frameworks, as well as gain invaluable experience through their interaction with senior business and government leaders in this 4-week integrated learning experience. The programme will be conducted from 10 July to 4 August 2006.

The Senior Management Programme is built around three key themes: Essential Tools for Leaders which focus on the leader as an individual and equips him with an invaluable suite of practical tools and approaches; Government and Business: An Interdependent Relationship which places the leader in the context of the two principal organizational actors in a modern economy and society; and New Global Realities which explain the new global environment.
